GSAC was pleased to host the Naples City Council Candidate Forum. The event was designed to engage community members in assessing the thoughts, priorities, and competency of Naples’ future leaders.

On February 3, 2026, voters will decide on three at-large City Council seats, each for a four-year term. The election is non-partisan. There are 8 candidates:

  • DAN BARONE
  • TED BLANKENSHIP
  • RAY CHRISTMAN
  • JOHN KROL
  • JOHN LANGLEY
  • SALLY PETERSEN
  • SCOTT SCHULTZ
  • PENNY TAYLOR

GSAC urges all who are eligible to vote to do so, whether by mail or in person, on February 3, 2026. There will be no in-person early voting. Vote-By-Mail ballots must be physically received by the Supervisor of Elections office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

In advance of the January 13 GSAC forum, we asked each of the candidates to provide a brief bio and explain in 250 words why they would make a great council member. You can read their responses here: GSAC 2026 Candidate Forum Flipbook.
