If you enjoy walking or riding a bicycle along Venetian Bay you’ve probably noticed a new Raymond Lutgert sculpture near 4450 GSBN. It is situated in a grassy area next to the sidewalk and next to the marina and is a wonderful addition to public art on GSBN.

Raymond Lutgert was the visionary developer of Park Shore. In his later years, he became an accomplished sculptor, with a number of his pieces on display across the City and at the Village on Venetian Bay.

As part of the City of Naples Centennial Celebration in 2024, it seemed appropriate that a Lutgert sculpture be included. The Park Shore Fund arranged for this new sculpture installation in collaboration with the Lutgert Family and the City. It was dedicated at a ceremony on November 9, 2024.

So, who is the Park Shore Fund? It’s a dedicated group of volunteers who raise money to beautify the Park Shore neighborhood which includes GSBN. It is a fund within the Collier Community Foundation that focuses on projects that are outside the scope of the City of Naples budget. Over the past 10 years, with the generous financial support of residents, the Park Shore Fund raised and invested over $340,000 in trees, plantings, and public art in Park Shore. Its next project, which hopefully will be completed in 2025, will be another sculpture to be located on GSBN.
