NCH and their construction team met with community leaders and neighbors on January 30, 2025, to present plans for the initial stage of construction of the new, highly anticipated R.M. Schulze Family Cardiovascular and Stroke Critical Care Center at Baker Hospital in downtown Naples.
The project will begin with the demolition of the Telford Building starting in mid-March 2025 to make way for the new hospital building and parking garage. Great care will be taken to minimize the impact on surrounding neighbors.
The first stage of demolition will take place entirely inside the Telford Building, where all interior furnishings and construction materials will be removed. Following the interior demolition, the exterior of the Telford Building will be “nibbled” away, not “knocked down” like most building demolitions. NCH stated there will be no demolition materials stored on site. All will be transported to a dump daily.
Demolition of the Telford Building should be complete by the end of the 2nd quarter 2025 at which time construction will get underway.
