On Aug. 4, Anthony “Tony” Christensen, a 22-year veteran firefighter with the Naples Fire Department lost his battle with COVID-19. He is thought to have contracted the virus while removing PPE, after responding to a call on duty.
Hundreds of friends, family members, and first responders showed up to pay their respects at his funeral. Described as a family man with a good sense of humor and a love for his fellow firefighters, Christensen touched many lives.
His ceremony concluded with a stirring rendition of “Amazing Grace” by the Guns n Hoses, Pipes n Drums of SWFL and the traditional Signal 5555.
