As we near the end of yet another very busy winter season, it seems like there is more traffic on our roads and more drivers violating the rules of the road than ever before.

We have had several requests from our membership asking what we can do to slow traffic and make our neighborhood roads safer.

We recently met with Master Officer Jeffrey Perry, our Community Police Officer, to share our member’s concerns.

In response to our meeting, neighborhood patrols have been increased, and speed has been monitored more closely.

In addition, a large electronic sign has been placed by the NPD in a location where speed has been determined to be particularly prevalent located on the southbound lane of the 4400 block of Gulf Shore Blvd North. The sign rotates two messages, “GO SLOW” and “Speed Limit 30 MPH.”

Contractor speeding in and out of the neighborhood has been of particular concern between 8-9 AM and 3-4 PM.

Please slow down and keep our neighborhood safe for the many residents that both walk and bike the Boulevard, and thank you, Master Officer Perry, for what you do to keep us safe every day!
