Rest assured citizens, safeguarding the charm and small-town character of our city is high on the agendas of all five candidates for city council. The condition of our waterways, beaches and lakes is another shared concern, as is managing the inevitable growth and development of such a desirable location.
The chorus was in tune on the Army Corps of Engineers’ coastal resiliency project as being a priority for the residents of Gulf Shore Boulevard. Natural defenses are the preferred option over major infrastructure, and all agree community buy-in is essential.
While there are differences in the details, the common denominator is a collegiate love for our slice of paradise.
