GSAC is delighted to again be holding a community-wide Water Forum.
It will be the 4th consecutive year that we bring together experts in their fields to discuss important water quality issues.
Ray Christman has helped plan and will again moderate this year’s Forum as he has in past years. During his seven years on City Council, Ray was a consistent champion for protecting our natural environment and for efforts around resiliency planning and investment. He continues to be a leader on these fronts in his post-Council career.”
The 2026 Forum will focus on resiliency, a high-priority issue for the City of Naples and GSAC members, especially since Hurricane Ian struck a devastating blow in 2022 and was followed by more hurricane activity in 2024.
It’s also a particularly timely topic as Resiliency will be a key component of the Naples Comprehensive Plan, which is being updated this year.
This year’s forum will be titled Resiliency Planning/Investing in Naples.
Dr. George Yilmaz, Assistant City Manager Critical Infrastructure & Public Works, will discuss the current City of Naples Resiliency Plan and planning process.
Gary Young, City Manager, will discuss the City’s Resiliency Plan implementation timeline, cost implications, and financing options.
Larry Humphries, Project Manager-Collier County, will discuss Collier County’s beach renourishment plan, the berm and planting resiliency program from Clam Bay Pass to Doctors Pass.
Brett Moore, President of Humiston & Moore, Coastal Engineers, will discuss current and planned coastal resiliency projects specifically in the GSBN/GSAC area.
It’s going to be an outstanding and educational 2 hours. You won’t want to miss it!
The Resiliency Planning/Investing in Naples forum will be held on:
Tuesday, March 24, 2026
from 9:00-11:00am
at the Naples United Church of Christ, 5200 Crayton Road
