GSAC residents have expressed their concern about the appearance of the entrance to Seagate Beach access located at the north end of Gulf Shore Boulevard North.
This area was relandscaped, walls and fencing repaired, bicycle racks refurbished, showers and benches replaced, and a new walkway built shortly after Hurricane Ian destroyed what was previously a beautiful entrance to the beach.
Again, this beach access point suffered major damage last fall after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
A meeting was recently held at the site with Parks and Recreation Director James Hanrahan, Eric Short, Superintendent, and Kurt Klas, Field Supervisor, to discuss a recovery plan.
We are pleased to report that this week, the project was for the most part completed.
The new look includes new and additional cement benches, the replacement of dead trees and shrubs with new plantings, new ground cover, and mulch.
The entire area has also been power-washed, which provides for a beautiful, fresh, clean look.
A big thank you to James, Eric, Kurt, and their Collier County Staff for making the Seagate Beach Access beautiful once again.
